Steps for artificial respiration (AR)
A
- open airway, jaw thrust with head tilt, for infants tilt head to neutral plus
- 1 breath every 5 seconds (1:3 for child)
- produce visible chest rise
- 2 minutes of care (24 breathes for adults if FBAO add 5) (for child 40 breathes, add 10 for FBAO)
- check pulse

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation CPR
A
- 30:2 always excepts for child with 2 guards
- 1 hand child, 2 hands adults, 2 fingers infant
- compressions with depth less than 2 inches
- compressions for child is less than 1/3 total chest depth
- switch compressors every 2 min or when care is inturupted

A
1 a breath wont go in: foreign body airway obstruction (FBAO)
- reposition mask and airway
- reattempt breath
- 30 compressions @ nipple line (infant just below)
- visual check of mouth
- finger sweep if necessary (pinky for infant)
- reattempt breath
- repeat until a breath goes in
- resume care
2 vomiting
- recovery position on the side
- clear mouth while on side
- resume care
