ex) (1) free write
(2) identify central idea (loop 1)
(3) create “center of gravity sentence
(4) loop 2: jumps off sentence

ex) ask: Who, what, where, when, why, how
the cross examination
interview yourself. Ask yourself general questions about your subject
ex) use the five categories and ask yourself as many questions as you can
