Infections - UTI Or PID

Chlamydia
Gonorrhea
Mycoplasma
Bacteroides
Streptococci
B. Vaginosis
Diagnosis of Chorioamnionitis confirmed if
Increase in Leukocytes count (15000)
Increased pulse rate
Foul smelling vaginal discharge
CRP >2.7mg/dL
If >2 points positive - Diagnosis of infection
Other causes of Preterm labor than infection
1) Anomalies - Uterine anomalies -Septate, Bicornate uterus, Unicornate uterus
Cervical - lacerated cervix , Short cervix
2) Maternal fetal stress
3) Choriodecidual space bleeding
4) Uterine overdistension - Polyhydroamnios, Large baby, Multiple (Twins, Triplets)
