• Generating mass support is highly important to the success of outsider groups
• Ex: Marcus Rashford teaming up with Fairshare in 2020 - Trying to get Govt to reverse decision regarding not extending free school meals to the summer
• Some pressure groups, with ambitious aims would consider mass support as success
• This is because mass support could lead to more people paying membership = More resources for the group
• Large membership can persuade Govt the cause is important
• Ex: RSPCA employs around 1,600 people and is supported by thousands of employees
