What is a manuscript speech?
The manuscript speech calls for you to write a speech and read it aloud- word for word- to the audience.
What is an extemporaneous presentation?
Speaking from an outline of ideas without memorizing.
The outline is put on note cards, using only key words or phrases.
What are the 3 types of speeches?
extemporaneous, memorized and manuscript
what is a memorized speech?
memorized speech is when a speaker commits an entire speech to memory.
What are the four speech starters?
rhetorical question, startler, quote, and personal story.
what is a rhetorical question?
question asked in order to create a dramatic effect or to make a point rather than to get an answer.
what is a startler?
A statement that is sudden, brief and unexpected.
what is a quote?
A repeat of a group of words from a text or speech that is not spoken or written by the author or speaker.
what is a personal story?
A story told from one’s life or experiences.
