What is the present tense used for?
Use the present tense to describe current actions or situations, such as:
I go to school everyday.
Use the present tense to talk about absolute and general truth, such as
Independance day is on the 4th of July.
What should I review first?
You need to review the subject pronouns and their order:
yo > nosotros, nosotras
tú, usted > ustedes
él > ellos
ella > ellos
Are the conjugations the same as
-ar ending verbs?
NO! Verbs ending in -er, -ir have different
conjugations. That is why you need to pay attention to the infinitive of the verb. That infinitive dictates which group of conjugations to use.
What is the difference between regular and irregular verbs?
There are many groups of irregular verbs. There is not one single pattern to follow. On the other hand, regular verbs have two components:
stem + verb ending / infinitive
Stem = does not change
infinitive = has three changes:
the infinitive, the subject, the time
What are the conjugation for regular verbs
ending in -er?
Regular verbs ending in -er have the following conjugations:
yo > -o
tú > -es
ud., él, ella > -e
nosotros, nosotras > -emos
ustedes, ellos, ellas > -en
