Present Continuous Flashcards
We can use the present continuous to express actions that irritates the speaker (we need to use the word “always”).
Ex:
You are always turning the tv off!
They are always listening loud music!
The present continuous is mainly used when we want to express that the action is happening in the moment that we are talking.
Ex:
Structure:
I am cleaning the house.
What are you doing?
I am not cleaning the house.
To be + verb + ing
We can use the present continuous to express a action that occurs in the present but not necessary in the moment we speak.
Ex:
My friend Joanne is reading a very good book.
Jim is teaching German and learning Japanese.
The present continuous is also used to describe exceptions to the routine.
Ex:
I usually drink soda at dinner, but tonight i’m drinking champagne.
The present continuous can be used to describe future plans(the time of the action needs to be informed).
Ex:
