What is the definition of the Present Continuous
The verb “to be” + “-ing form”
Build the affirmative version of the Present Continuous with all forms of “to be” and the word “work”
I am working you are working he / she /it /is working we are working they are working
Build the question version of the Present Continuous with all forms of “to be” and the word “work”
am I working ? are your working ? is he /she /it working ? are we working ? are they working ?
You can see we simple reverse the first two words in contrast with the affirmative
Build the negative version of the Present Continuous with all forms of “to be” and the word “work”
I am not working you are not working he/ she/ it is not working we are not working they are not working
you can see we add the word not after the first to words in contrast with the affirmative
What is the use of the Present Continuous ?
What does it describe ?
Temporary actions / actions in progress / happening now
and
Progressive change / actions that are evolving

Future plans and arrangements
and
physical feelings
Here are a couple of examples for the Present Continous

I am making a sandwich (temporary action)
You look sad. Why are you crying? (happening now)
The dog is in the garden. He is chasing the cat. (happening now)
I need to go on a diet. I am getting fatter (progressive change)
The climate is getting warmer. (progressive change)
The price of gold is increasing. (progressive change)
What are you doing tonight? (future plans)
I am going to Italy next week. (arrangement)
What bar are we going to for drinks tomorrow? (future plans)
How are you feeling? (physical feelings)
or How do you feel both are correct (present simple)
My tooth is hurting
