- pre compounding rx (drug already prepared by pharma)
- extemporaneous rx (prepared by pharmacist as directed by doc)
What are the three parts of a prescription?
inscription - name of drug, formulations, unit dosage
transcription - directions from the prescriber (SIG)
subscription - info TO pharmacist regarding quantity, dose, etc
Should we write the number as refills, as a number?
NO
write it out as a word so the patient cannot add an additional 0
