Can a Dr registered in the UK prescribe CDs (Sch 2-5)?
Yes. A HO licence is required to prescribe cocaine, dipipanone or diamorphine for treating addiction. Address of prescriber must be within the UK.
Can a Dr registered in the UK prescribe unlicensed medicines?
Yes (subject to good clinical practice)
Can a Dr registered in the UK authorise an emergency supply?
Yes. Includes phenobarbital for epilepsy but not Sch 1, 2 and 3 CDs
Can a Pharmacist IP prescribe CDs (Sch 2-5)?
Yes. (but not cocaine, dipipanone or diamorphine for treating addiction.) Address of prescriber must be within the UK.

What considerations should be made for a Dentist prescribing?
Should restrict prescribing to treatment of dental conditions but legally can prescribe within clinical expertise. NHS dental prescriptions are restricted to medicines within the Dental Formulary
