define stable ecosystem

A

an environment where there is balance between living and non-living components

INDIVIDUAL = stable ecosystem provides clean water allowing individuals to not have to drink contaminated water filled with toxins. this reduces the risk of water-borne diseases like cholera and enables them to continue to work and earn an income instead of being bed-ridden

NATIONAL = provides resources for agricultural industries like crops that can be consumed by farmers. this reduces the risk of malnutrition which leads to a strong immune system developing, allowing farmers to live longer healthier lives as they’re less susceptible to diseases

GLOBAL = provides renewable sources of energy like electricity that is more sustainable than fossil fuels as it’s made available quicker. allowing future generations to experience a decent standard of living as electricity can be continuously provided thus promoting sustainability

relates to ensuring that resources used to promote H+W now are available for future generations so they can experience good quality of life too

  1. food can be continuously provided to future generations so ppl r less likely to worry about food availability. this allows them to concentrate on activities like exercising to improve their life (INDIVIDUAL)
  2. wood obtained from forests can be continuously used and produced leading to adequate houses being built. this promotes feelings of safety as the risk of being robbed is reduced which leads to reduced stress and anxiety in the community (NATIONAL)
  3. SR means that resources like plant matter is continually provided which leads to production of medicines around the world. this means that infectious diseases like tuberculosis can be effectively treated which reduces the risk of disease transmission between countries globally. (GLOBAL)
