Pregnancy drug categories
A: safe in human trials
B: safe in animal trials
C: no adequate studies
D: fetal risk, but benefit might outweigh risk
X: don’t use, risks obviously outweigh benefits
Chadwick’s sign
purple coloration of cervix
look in first trimester w/ speculum
Hegar’s sign
softening of cervix
look in first trimester w/ speculum
When genetic screening is recommended
woman >35 y/o w/ singleton
women >32 y/o w/ twins
or genetic risks
or signifigant meds or street drugs
Increased nuchal translucency may occur in this disease
down syndrome
Gestational diabetes generally begins in this time period and is therefore tested for
24-28 wk
Leukorrhea
secretions from vagina during 2nd trimester
Rhogam is given when
