How is oral hairy leukoplakia treated if associated with AIDS?

Clinical features of leukoplakia suggestive of increased risk of malignant transformation?
Surface:
- Raised/nodular
Colour:
- Red/white (speckled)
Site:
- Floor of mouth
- Lateral border of tongue
- Retromolar region
- Buccal sulcus (paan chewers)
- Labial commissure
Advanced age
Female gender
Aetiology of leukoplakia?
Tobacco
- Chewing tobacco - paan
- Reverse smoking
- Pipe smoking
Smokeless tobacco & oral epithelial dysplasia
C. albicans
Which lesions are always high risk?
All red patches (erythroplakias)
Non-homogenous leukoplakias - i.e. speckled or nodular appearance
All lesions showing dysplasia
