While this might seem easy to accommodate for the facilitator, people aren’t really contributing anything of value to the conversation and may be withholding worthwhile ideas. When conflict is avoided, nothing is resolved.

The concept is that everyone gives up a little bit of what they want, and no one gets everything they want

group may learn to allow each participant to make a contribution with the possibility of co- creating a shared solution that everyone can support. A great way to collaborate and overcome conflict is to reach out and touch them.
Collaborating
This may appear to be a gracious way to give in when one figures out s/he has been wrong about an argument.

Mediation is terminated upon:
a. the signing by the parties of a settlement agreement;
b. the notification in writing made to the Mediator by any party that such party has decided no longer to pursue the mediation;
c. the notification in writing by the Mediator to the parties that, in the Mediator’s opinion, the mediation will not resolve the dispute between the parties. The non-settlement of dispute shall in no way result in the parties being precluded or barred from bringing an action to IPOPHL or competent judicial or administrative body.
