Protective Breathing Equipment (PBE) (4)
a. Both tamper-evident seals are intact.
b. If one tamper-evident seal is broken, notify the PIC to replace.
c. VSI indicator is not protruding or humidity indicator is blue.
d. Placards are present and legible.
First Aid Kit (2)
A. Sealed
B. Placards are present and legible.
Halon 1211 Fire Extinguisher (5)
a. Securely mounted and in good condition.
b. Pressure gauge indicates in the green arc.
c. The safety pin is installed with the seal intact.
d. Hose is attached and unobstructed.
e. Placard is present and legible.
DME Flashlight (3)
a. LED flashes every two to 10 seconds.
b. Placards present and legible.
c. Securely mounted.
Lifelines (4)
a. Remove cover.
b. Check lifeline is present and attached to fuselage.
c. Make sure snap hook is present and attached to rope.
d. Placard is present and legible.
Portable Oxygen Bottles (POB) (6)
a. Cylinders are securely mounted in brackets.
b. Pressure indicates a minimum of 1600 PSI.
c. On-off knob is fully off (full clockwise).
d. Mask is in the bag, pre-attached to oxygen bottle, and hoses are not cracked.
e. Strap is attached and not frayed.
f. Placard is present and legible.
Enhanced Emergency Medical Kit (EEMK) (2)
a. Placards are present and legible.
b. Tamper-proof seal intact.
Automated External Defibrillator (AED) (2)
a. Placard is present and legible.
b. Ensure status indicator window shows a flashing hourglass symbol.
Lavatory Smoke Detector (5)
a. Ensure aircraft power is on. Green LED is illuminated.
b. Push self test switch with a pen lid.
c. Confirm that alarm signal runs continuously while depressing switch.
d. Confirm that red LED is illuminated on smoke detector.
e. Placards are present and legible.
Photo-luminescent Escape Path Lighting (4)
a. Passengers must not be boarded.
b. All overhead bins are closed.
c. Place the ceiling and side wall lights to bright for a minimum of 15 min. to charge lights.
d. Inspect the tracks and components for any damage or significant staining. Report any discrepancies to PIC.
Passenger Floatation Device (1)
a. Present.
Crew Life Vest (2)
a. Ensure life vest is stowed in pouch.
b. Placard is present and legible.
Preflight the Halon 1301 fire extinguisher on the CRJ 200 and CRJ 700/900. (2)
a. CRJ 200: Pressure gauge in green arc. Heat probes/discharge arms checked for moisture.
b. CRJ 700/900: Checking temperature tape. (Should not be black!)
Infant Life Vest (2)
a. Five infant life vests present in pouch (8 on E-175); do not remove from sealed pouch.
b. Placards are present and legible.
Megaphone (Type 1; White) (3)
a. Securely mounted and in good condition.
b. Depress the push-to-talk button and test.
c. Placards present and legible.
