Precise Definitions Flashcards
Angle:
A= The amount of turn between two straight lines that have a common vertex.
B= Two lines that come together.
C= A figure composed of 2 rays sharing a common endpoint, and the endpoint is known as the vertex.
C
Parallel:
A - Two lines are parallel if they are distinct and one can be translated on top of the other.
B - Two lines are parallel if they are close together and don’t intersect.
C - Two lines are parallel if they are not perpendicular.
A
Perpendicular:
A - A and B are perpendicular if they never meet.
B - A and B are perpendicular if they meet at one point and one of the angles at the intersection point is a right angle.
C - A and B are perpendicular if they meet at a single point such that the two lines make a ‘T’.
B
Circle:
A - A set of all points in a plane that are the same distance away from a given point, which is the centre.
B - The set of all points from 3D space the same distance from the centre point.
C - A perfectly round shape.

What is a quotient?
A quotient is the answer to a division problem.
