Precipitation Reaction Flashcards
What is a Solute?
A substance dissolved in a solvent to form a solution.
What is Solvent?
Liquid in which the Solute dissolved to form a solution.
What is Solution?
Mixture that is form when Solute dissolved from Solvent.
What is Soluble?
Solute that is able to dissolved in Solvent.
What is Insoluble?
Solute that is unable to dissolved in Solvent.
Identify Solute & Solvent from Solution. Milo is stirred into milk.

Salt including Sodium Chloride
Explain how Soluble iconic compound work?
Solute will dissolve in a solvent if the forces of attraction between solvent and solute are greater enough to overcome the force of attraction holding the solute particles together. There is greater force of attraction between compound and water than compound and compound
Explain how Insoluble iconic compound work?
Solute will not dissolved if forces of attraction between solute and solvent are weaker than forces of attraction between solute particles. There is weaker force of attraction between water and compound than compound and compound.
Define the term dissociation?
The separation of compound into its constituent ions. It occurs when iconic compound dissolves in water.
Disscus why cooper (II) Sulfate is soluble in water but cooper hydroxide is not?
What is NaCl(s) equation for dissolving iconic substance?
NaCl(s)→,Na+(aq) + Cl −(aq)
What is NaCl(s)→,Na+(aq) + Cl −(aq) solvent?
