Social Diagnosis
Precede Phase 1
Ask the community what it wants and needs to improve its quality of life (objective for intervention)
Epidemiological Diagnosis
PRECEDE Phase 2
Identify the health or other issues that most clearly influence the outcome the community seeks. (objective for intervention)
Educational and Ecological Diagnosis
PRECEDE Phase 3
Identify behaviors, lifestyles and/or environmental factors that must be changed to affect the health or other issues; Identify predisposing, enabling, and reinforcing factors that act as supports for or barrios to changing the behaviors and environmental factors identified above. (plan the intervention)
Administrative and Policy Diagnosis
PRECEDE Phase 4
Identify the internal administrative issues, internal and external policy issues that can affect the successful conduct of the intervention. (adjust where necessary)
Implementation
PROCEDE Phase 5
Carry out the intervention
Process evaluation
PROCEDE Phase 6
Evaluate the process of the intervention; determine whether the intervention is proceeding according to plan and adjusting accordingly
Impact Evaluation
PROCEDE Phase 7
Evaluate whether intervention is having the intended impact on the behavioral environmental factors it’s aimed at and adjust accordingly
Outcome Evaluation
PROCEDE Phase 8
Evaluate whether intervention’s effects are in turn producing the outcome(s) identified in Phase 1
