VCHIPS varicella cutaneous diptheria herpes simplex impetigo pediculosis (lice) scabies
contact precautions require
gown and gloves (C Diff and Norovirus require hand washing, not alcohol based)

Measles, Mumps, Rubella(contact)
TB
Varicella (Chicken Pox-contact)

mask, respirator, gown then gloves
Contact Precautions: before entering
- Wash hands
2. DON gown then gloves
Before leaving the patient’s room w/contact precautions
- Remove gloves then gown

Airborne Precautions: Before entering:
- Wash hands
- Don N95 Respirator (Mask)
- Don gown then gloves
Before leaving pt’s room w/Airborne Precautions
- Remove gloves then gown NOT N95 mask
2. Wash hands
After leaving pt’s room w/Airborne Precautions
- Shut door
- Wash hands
- Remove N95 mask
- Wash hands
Before Entering: Droplet Precautions
- Wash Hands
- DON Mask and Eye Protection
- DON Gown then Gloves
Before Leaving Pt’s Room:
- Remove gloves then gown
- Wash Hands
- Remove eye protection and mask
- Wash Hands
