What the very first thing you say when inspecting the front of the bus?
- Mirrors brackets are secure, mirrors not cracked or broken
- Clearance lights, signal lights and headlights, all covered, not cracked or broken
3.school bus # and license plate legible and secure and up to date - Windshield secure and no cracks
5.Wiper brackets and blades secure, rubber is flexible, hoses connected
6.Bumper is secure - No leaks or hanging wires under the bus
- Bus not leaning to either side- that would indicate a suspension issue
what to say first for the left (driver side) of the bus?
1.Mirror bracket is secure; mirrors not cracked or broken.
2. This is my electrical fuse box
3. Clearance lights, signal lights all covered, not cracked or broken
4. Reflectors are visible
5. Company name ,Bus and Tcp # are legible
6.Driver and passenger windows are not cracked or broken

what do you say about the left front tire?
a. inflation is good
b. tire tread depth cannot be less than 4/32 nd of an inch
c. side wall has no abrasions, bulges or cuts
d. rim is not cracked or bent
e. lug nuts are all present and secure no rust

g. valve stem is straight and capped
h. only new tires in the front

- Window not cracked or broken
- Bumper is secure
- No leaks or hangings wires under the bus
- Tail pipe cannot extend more than 2” from the bus
Engine compartment
- Engine oil dipstick, Transmission oil dipstick
- Coolant reservoir, coolant level looks good
- Power steering reservoir, i see the fluid levels also capped with a dipstick
- Alternator, belt driven
- Water pump, belt driven
- Intake filter
7.Belt tensioner cannot have more than 1/2 inch play - Hoses, lines and wires are connected not fray or loose, overall in good condition
(Right side of bus)- may not have to open?
9. Air governor
10. air compressor - gear driven
Right side of bus coming from the back
- Clearance lights, signal lights all covered, not cracked or broken
- Reflectors are visible
- Company name ,Bus and Tcp # are legible
4.Passenger windows are not cracked or broken - Emergency windows are marked and legible
- Vents free of debris
- Battery compartment- battery cables and batteries are secure, no corrosion
- No new damage to the side of the bus overall in good condition
RIGHT dual rear Tires
a. inflation is good on both tires
b. No obstruction in between the dual rear tires
c. Tire tread depth can be no less than 2/32nd of an inch
d. side wall has not abrasions, cuts or bulges
e. Rim is not cracked or bent
f. lug nuts are all secure, no rust
g. Hub seal is secure not leaking
h. Both valve stems are capped and secure
i. You can have recapped tires in the rear

1.DEF cap secure not leaking; make sure to open and show seal
2.Diesel engine fluid tank- cap is secure, good seal, no leaking
Right FRONT tire

d. rim is not cracked or bent
