    3.school bus # and license plate legible and secure and up to date
  3. Windshield secure and no cracks
    5.Wiper brackets and blades secure, rubber is flexible, hoses connected
    6.Bumper is secure
  4. No leaks or hanging wires under the bus
  5. Bus not leaning to either side- that would indicate a suspension issue

  3. Power steering reservoir, i see the fluid levels also capped with a dipstick
  4. Alternator, belt driven
  5. Water pump, belt driven
  6. Intake filter
    7.Belt tensioner cannot have more than 1/2 inch play
  7. Hoses, lines and wires are connected not fray or loose, overall in good condition

Drivers Compartment

A
  1. drivers seat, goes back and forward and locks, goes up and down by air and my seat belt works and is in good condition
  2. Service brake , Accelerator
  3. This is my ignition, turn the key to on position ( name lights, gauges etc. on dash), after start the engine
  4. parking brake ( pull to apply, push to release)
  5. gear selector ( reverse, neutral, drive and my drive has five gears
  6. This are my heaters in the back
  7. service door button ( open and close it), step well lights come on when door is open and turn off when door is closed
  8. This is my defroster and my heater
  9. air conditoner

10.Drivers window opens and closes no obstructions
11.Left and right Dome lights, noise suppressor, drivers light
12. Fans ( high and low)
13. headlights, and high idle, mirror defroster and panel dimmer
14. Mirror adjusters- I have left/right flat mirrors- allow me to see 200ft to the rear of the bus and 1” of the side of the bus
-Convex mirrors- allow me too see rear tires touching the ground and the next lane
-rear view mirror - allows me to see all passengers and emergency exits
15. steering column/ tilts back and forth and locks into place, windshield wipers, wiper fluid, and horn all working properly
16. Full lock left - checking for excessive play , now full lock to the right checking for the same - now straighten wheel
17. Indicators- High beams working inside, left turn signal, right, hazards

Air brake test ( after drivers compartment )

A
  1. Cut In - Count 10 seconds to let the needle settle
    a. cut in can be no less than 85 psi, my cut in is ______
  2. Cut out - Now im going to let the system rebuild so i can recheck the cut out
    a. the cut out can be no more than 130 psi, this bus cut out is ______
  3. Engine off- On position !!!! Static check - Im going to time the system for 1 min, time starts now.
    a. I cannot lose no more then 2 psi in one min.
    b. Im checking for air loss in my storage tanks and my one way check valves
    c. minute is up, no air loss
  4. Engine on position!!!! - Applied test - Release the parking brake! - Apply the service brake- hold for one min
    a. I cannot lose no more than 3 psi in one min
    c. Im checking for air loss in my brake lines and brake chambers
    d. minute is up no air loss

c. Set the parking brake!!!!!

  1. Engine On still!!!! Low air warning - Pump the service brake until the low air warning light and buzzer sound.
    b. it should activate at at no less than 60 psi.
    !!!!
    Start the bus!!!!!!

Interior check ( after air brake test)

  1. Check all bottom and backs, that they are secure
  2. Check all emergency exit windows and emergency exit roof hatches - arrows and instructions are clearly marked and visible, i hear the buzzer
  3. Check two windows on each side ( up/down - no obstructions)
