Pre TO Safety Briefing Procedure

Question 1

If i encounter an abnormal situation or an UAS on the runway I will;

Answer 1

Close the throttle, and apply braking as required to stop in a straight line

Question 2

If the engine fails after TO w/ runway remaining I will;

Answer 2

Close the throttle, lower the nose and land on the available surface in a straight line

Question 3

If the engine fails after TO w/ no runway remaining below 300ft I will;

Answer 3

Close the throttle, lower the nose and choose a field w/in 30° either side of the nose, confirm glide speed of 73kts, and if time permits carry out the emergency engine shut down checks (F,M,M,M)

Question 4

If the engine fails after TO w/ no runway remaining above 300ft I will;

Answer 4

Lower the nose and choose a field w/in 60° either side of the nose, confirm glide speed (of 73kts), and if time permits, attempt to restart the engine w/ initial actions (C,M,F)

Question 5

I will only consider turning back to the runway if;

Answer 5

The aeroplane is at or above 1000ft or established on downwind
