are small Yuan dynasty containers that
have been excavated from the Philippines and parts ofINdonesia, but not China. This suggests they were made for export and came in plain white glaze decorated with brown spots, bue, or reed painted decoration. Photo from the ARO Collection.

Filipinos at the Spanish contact looked fullly clothed from afar, but on a closer inspection were actually wearing tatoos. Thus Spaniards described them as Pintados (Painted Ones).
