Q

When is a RAIM Check required?

Non-WAAS
WAAS

A

Non-WAAS : If solely used to satisfy the RNAV and RNP requirement, GPS RAIM must be confirmed for the intended route of flight using current GPS satellite information.

WAAS : If equipment is used to satisfy RNAV requirement, the pilot doesn’t need to perform the prediction if WAAS coverage is confirmed to be available along full route of flight. Where WAAS is unavailable, must perform RAIM check.
