Pre and Production, The Master Shot Flashcards
1
Q
What is the purpose of Pre-production and what things should you consider?
A
Making a Plan
- Solidifying the structure of the story; script, photography, storyboard
- Sets: who is scouting locations? Will I need to build sets? Do I need to obtain permission from local authorities to film?
- Securing the resources; how much money do you need for each stage of the filmmaking process; crew, actors, etc. Am I renting or borrowing equipment?
- NOW once all that’s done, we make a production timeline schedule

Describe the production stage of filmmaking

The actual shooting where we aim to get 99% of the shots, “the point of no return” where it is now cheaper to finish the project than dip out early
3
