Pre algebra VOCAB Flashcards
Area
The measure, in square units, of the inside region of a 2-dimensional figure or the surface of a 3-dimensional figure.
Circumference
The perimeter of a circle. The length of the perimeter of a circle.
Radius
The distance from the center of a circle to the edge.
Diameter
The distance across a circle from edge to edge going through the center.
Rectangular Prism
A 3-dimensional figure with six faces.
Cylinder
A 3-dimensional figure with two parallel and congruent circles as bases, one curved surface, two curved edges, and no vertices.
Net
A 2-dimensional shape that can be folded into a 3-dimensional figure is a net of that figure.
Surface Area
The total area of the faces (including the bases) and curved surfaces of a sold figure.
Volume
The number of cubic units it takes to fill a figure.
Pi
The ratio of the circumference of any circle to its diameter, approximately to 3.14.
