How to go from kW to W?
- Divide by 1000
- Rhannu gyda 1000

What does the Volts do if it’s AC?
- Volts change size all the time
- Mae foltiau’n newid maint trwy’r amser
What do the Amps do if it’s AC?
- Amps (Cerrynt) change direction (Cyfeiriad)
- Mae Amps (Cerrynt) yn newid cyfeiriad
What do the volts and amps do if it’s DC?
The size and direction stay the same
Mae’r maint a’r cyfeiriad yn aros yr un peth
There are 3 types of wires. What does the Earth Wire do?
- Wrth weithredu yn ol yr arfer, nid yw’r wifren hon yn cludo cerrynt.
- When operating normally, this wire does not carry current.
What does the Live wire do (byw)?
- This carries current to the house at high voltage
- Mae hyn yn cludo cerrynt i’r ty ar foltedd uchel
What does the Negitive Wire do (Niwtral/Negyddol)?
- This completes the circuit and has the same current as the live wire but has a lower voltage
- Mae hyn yn cwblhau’r gylched ac mae ganddo’r un cerrynt a’r wifren fyw ond mae iddo foltedd is
Advantages of a main circuit (prif cylched clych)?
- The current could travel through a way so you can make the wires thinner and have lower currents in both parts
- Gallai’r cerrynt deithio drwy ffordd felly gallwch wneud y gwifrau’n deneuach a chael cerrynt is yn y ddwy ran
- Gallu adio mewn mwy o socedau yn unrhyw le ar y cylch a bydd yr un foltedd i bob un (230V)
- Be able to add in more sockets anywhere on the circuit and each will have the same voltage (230V)
What does a ffiws do?
-Atal y cerrynt os yw’n mynd yn rhy fawr.
-Mae’n gwneud hyn hyn drwy doddi gwifren yn y ffiws
golyga hyn bod yn rhaid newid y ffiws pan fydd wedi
‘chwythu’
-Mae hyn yn atal y ddyfais rhag gorboethi.
-Stop the current if it gets too big.
-It does this by melting a wire in the fuse which means
the fuse has to be changed when it has ‘blown’
-This prevents the device from overheating.
What is a MCB?
-Atal y cerrynt os yw’n mynd yn rhy fawr.
Mae’n adweithio’n gyflym a gellir ei ailosod.
Mae hyn yn atal y ddyfais rhag gorboethi.
-Stop the current if it gets too big.
It reacts quickly and can be replaced.
This prevents the device from overheating.
What is an RCCB?
- Mae’n atal cerrynt os yw’r cerrynt yn y wifren niwtral yn wahanol i’r wifren fyw(cofiwch, pan fydd y cerrynt yn gweithio yn ol yr arfer bydd y cerrynt yr un fath yn y ddau).
- Mae’n adweithio i wahaniaeth bach iawn, yn adweithion’ gyflym iawn a gellir ei ailosod.
- Bydd hyn yn diogelu’r defnyddiwr rhag sioc drydanol ddifrifol.
- It stops current if the current in the neutral wire is different from the live wire (remember, when the current works normally the current will be the same in both).
- It reacts to a very small difference, is very fast and can be replaced.
- This will protect the consumer from severe electrical shock.
What else does the earth wire do?
- If the voltage is too high, instead of letting the person getting shocked it transports the voltage back down to the ground.
- Os oes foltedd uchel, yn hytrach na yr person cael anaf mi fydd yr foltedd cael ei arwain mas or ty.
