Q
T1 ripple tank practical
A
- inside is a vibrating bar that is connected to a power pack
- when bar vibrated it creates waved across the water surface
- above tank is lamp and below is a sheet of paper
- when light shines through paper it created an image of the waved on the paper
- record using phone to slow down or freeze image of waves

Q
T2 Stretching a String
A
- Place heavy weight on a clamp stand to stop it from falling over
- Attach a metre ruler and a spring. Top of spring must be on 0 point in the metre ruler
- The bottom on the spring had a wooden splint attached as a pointer that must be horizontal
- Read position of pointer on the metre rule which is the unstretched value
- Hang a weight on spring and read the value and continue from 1N-4N
- Calculate extension= unstretched - stretched

Q
T2 Acceleration
A
- Toy car is attached to a string and the string is attached to the pulley and the other end of the string is attached to a 100g mass
- The weight of the mass will provide a force acting on the toy car
- On desk draw chalk lines at equal intervals
- Hold toy car at starting point and let go when ready
- Record time the car reaches each distance marker
- Repeat but decrease the mass at end of string

Q
T1 infrared 1+2
A
- Get leslie cube with 4 different surfaces
- Fill it with hot water
- Point an infrared detector at each 4 surfaces and record amount of infrared emitted
- Get 2 metals plates. One shiny and one Matte
- Use Vaseline to attach drawing pins on the side
- The temperature of the metal plates increase sure to infrared heater
- Time when the pins fall off
This is due to more absorbed infrared
