Practical Control - Measurement Control Systems Flashcards
Measurement systems are used for?
Obtain event data, for inspection or testing and as an element in a control system
Measurement systems have three basic elements, they are?
Sensing element, signal conditioner and display
Requirements for choosing a sensor?
Cost, reliability and quality of the information
Will the preset value change in an open loop control system? Why?
No, external factors wont change the output
Problems of open loop?
Can’t adapt to the environment therefore inspections are needed regularly.
How do closed loop systems work?
Reference signal is compared to the feedback signal, this difference is the error which is then modified so it can adjust the performance of the system
1 advantage of a closed loop system?
The system can correct for disturbance (feedback)
