PR 2 Flashcards
What is Quantitative Research?
The study that focuses on converting perspectives, thoughts, and behaviors into statistical data.
What is Descriptive Research?
Identifying and describing the cause or reason of a particular phenomenon. It is focusing on independent and dependent variables.
(Impacts of…Effects of… Implications of…)
Define Independent Variable.
A variable that affects the dependent variable.
Define Dependent Variable.
A variable that receives the effect.
What is Correlational Design?
Analyzing the relationship between variables.
(Relationship between.. Association between..Correlational analysis..)
What is Quasi-Experimental Design?
Determines the causality between one or more variables. Highly based on time duration and centralized on programs.
What is Experimental Design?
The highest form of quantitative research focusing on cause, effects, and differences of variables to formulate a product or project.
Define Research Variable.
The object, characteristic, and subject matter of the study that can be measured.
Define Research Title.
A clear structure describing what a particular research is all about.
What is IMRAD format?
The term represents the first letters of the words Introduction, Methods, Results, And, Discussion.
Standard format
What is Perceived Gap?
An observed idea or concept that has not been fully addressed by previous studies.
Define Background of the Study.
The part of the research that focuses on describing the preliminary ideas or context of the research.
Explain C.A.R.S. Model of Writing an Introduction.
- Move 1: Establishing a Territory [the situation] - State the general idea of the research
- Move 2: Establishing a Niche [the problem] - Stating the research problem
- Move 3: Occupying the Niche [the purpose and solution] - Analyzing the research purpose.
What is Statement of the Problem?
Presentation of the important research questions and purposes of the study.
Define Scopes and Delimitations.
Scopes explain what information or subject is being analyzed and studied. Delimitations specify what is not included in the research.
