PR Flashcards
Guide data collection ensuring accuracy, reliability and validity
Standardized instrument
Showcase summarized data collection to show trends, relationships or differences among variables
Figures,tables or graphs
Showcase summarized data collection to show trends, relationships or differences among variables
Figures,tables or graphs
Yields more variable data(however principles of rabdom sampling must be followed to prevent bias)
Large population
The primary objective of a ___________ design is to identify a cause-effect relationship between the variables where the samples are randomized.
True Experimental Research
Mirrors experimental research but is not true experimental research where a casual relationship can be determined with the use of dependent and independent variables
Quasi- Experimental Research
A nonexperimental research design focuses on the description of factors, variables or phenomena that occur in nature
Descriptive Research
To examine the trends and tendencies in information and communication
Research and Communication
Examine how agriculture/fisheries is affected by trends
Agriculture and fisheries
Asses approaches that will help businesses in improvements and decision making practices
Business
Asses approaches that will help businesses in improvements and decision making practices
Business
Also called varibale is persumed to cause the change towards another variable, which is known as the dependent variable or the outcome variable
Independent Variables
Are the variable that is influenced by the independent variables
Dependent Variables
Are also known as interviewing variables since the intervene between the independent and dependent variable to show their connection
Mediating Variables
Are variables that should be mainly excluded from the research study as they may interfere and compromise with the experiment and research
Extraneous Variables
Is also called scales of measure, gives you an idea of the type of data you have
Level of Measurement
Is any variable that represents different types of data, which may be divided into groups or category. There is no intrinsic order hence its frequencies can only be counted
Nominal variable
Is any variable that may also be divided into groups or categories, but it has intrinsic or rank. Its frequencies can be both counted and rnaked in which the distance between categories is not equivalent
Ordinal variable
Is a variable that had a numerical value. It can be counted and ranked, and the difference between the ranked categories are meaningful. There is no true zero point
Internal variable
Is an interval value, but unlike the internal variable, it has a true zero. It has numerical value and meaning which can also be counted ,ranked, and has meaningful difference between values. There is a true zero point, which means that nothing exist for that variable and that zero imply means
Ratio variable
Describes the coverage of the study specifying what is covered in terms of concepts, number of respondents or the population included in the study, as well as the timeline when the study was conducted
Scope
Citing factors or variables that are not to be in terms included and boundary in terms of time fame, number of subjects, respondents that are excluded, specifies what are not included in the study
Delimitation
