A

Llyod George aimed to increase Britains trade,sea power and colonies,he didn’t want to punish Germany as harshly because Germany was the their second biggest trade partner and weaking Germany’s econoy would also affect Britian’s trade.But again he wanted to keep his promise to make germany pay to which he promised to his nation.

A

Clemenceau wanted revenge. He wanted to humiliate and punish the Germans as a revenge on how Germany had tortured them in the previous years.Clemenceau wanted to weaken Germany economically and physically so they wont have the power to inavde or attack France ever again.

A

Clemenceau was happy with the harsh terms included in the treaty specifically the reperations as it decreased Germany’s economical strenth while increasing the french wealth.He was also happy with rhineland being demilitarized as now Rhineland wont be able to attack or invade Germany. But he was still thought that the terms werent harsh enough.

A

Why were the German unhappy?

A

The Germans were unhappy as-

  • They had to take the complete blame for WW1
  • They lost industrial territories thta made them economically weak and the treaty still needed them to pay high repearations.
  • They had no say in teh treaty.
  • Their army was reduced to 100,000 menthis term was enforced so that Germany wouldnt invade or attack any other countries but then they felt that they wouldn’t be able to defend themselves if they were atacked or invaded.
