Small Boat Probe

A

-Warn and deter COI
-SALUTE report to ATTWO
-Initiate warnings (hail, loud speaker, sirens, horns, flares)
-Assume shadowing/blocking position between threat and WRA/barriers/craft
-Monitor COI
-Counter-surveillance
-Prepare to escalate is become small boat attack

Small Boat Attack

A

-Warn and deter COI
-SALUTE report to ATTWO
-Initiate warnings (hail, loud speaker, sirens, horns, flares)
-Assume shadowing/blocking position between threat and WRA/barriers/craft
-CSW in Condition 3 and notify ATTWO/WC
-SCOF escalation
-If triangle met, rack and neutralize threat
-If beat, SCRAM and coordinate with other HSBs, Tower and Surface Craft
-ACE report to ATTWO/WC
-When craft is destroyed, BDA(battle damage assessment) report to ATTWO/WC
-Prepare to assist medical casualties on COI & HSB (DONT BOARD UNLESS ORDERED)
-Standby to assist EOD

Loss of Communications

A

-Check electrical systems if receiving power
-If primary down, use secondary to inform
-If secondary also down, use tertiary to inform
-If all comms down use phones, hand and arm signals, hailing devices etc
-Once established, ready 5 to get boat back up

Loss of Electrical Power

A

-Check for signs of electrical fire (smoke n flames)
-Check electrical switched and circuit breakers
-Verify alternator output (switch panels, smart craft system)
-Turn battery panel parallel and try to restart engine
-Notify ATTWO, request tow back if not able to restore

Loss of Steering

A

-Throttle down, assess
-If in high traffic, use throttles and trim down to maneuver
-Secure engines and raise props to check for fouling and/or damage
-Check steering pump belt, rams, steering fluids
-Have bow hook check for movement on rams and outboards
-If no luck, request tow back
-Check water flow out of jets. If none, try to flush jet and monitor engine temps to prevent overheating

Loss of Navigation Lights

A

HSB w/ NO NAV LIGHTS UNABLE TO GO UNDERWAY
-Check electrical switched and circuit breakers
-Use red/green chem lights (turn on code lights for visibility)
-If no chem lights, use sound signals when transiting
-Notify ATTWO/WC

Loss of Propulsion from:
-loss of electrical power
-fuel pump failure
-engine seizure from salt water in oil/fuel system
-damage to water pump on jet drive boats

A

-Secure affected engine
-Check oil
-Check fuel system
-Raise outboard engine to check propellers
-Back flush jet drive and check/clear sea water strainers
-Anchor/beach boat if able
-Notify ATTWO/WC

Engine Overheating/High Water Temperature

A

-Idle affected engine
-Check flow of seawater out of discharge port
-If no flow, bring engines RPMS up and monitor temp
-Back flush jet drive and check/clear sea water strainers
-Check inlets for clogging for outboard engines
-If persists, secure engine and notify ATTWO/WC

Loss of Lube Oil Pressure

A

-Secure affected engine
-Investigate
-Check for evidence of oil leak
-Check oil filter cap and filter
-Verify oil level
-Check oil drain fitting
-Notify ATTWO

Major Leak/Flooding

A

-Notify ATTWO/WC/USCG/HPD
-Turn on all bilge pumps
-Move HSB to shallow water if possible
-Locate source
-If on bow, raise on plane
-If on stern, slowdown but don’t stop, monitor w bow hook at diff speeds
-If in hull, attempt to plug
-If faulty hose/pipe, secure system
-Stow ammunition canisters in cabin
-BEACH IF ABLE
-Report to ATTWO/WC

Fire

A

-Move out of channel and into shallow area
-Secure engines and electrical power
-Attempt to extinguish
-Move ammunition away from fire and fuel source
-If out of control, throw ammo overboard and abandon
If contained, assess injuries and damage
-Notify ATTWO/WC
