PPRS Flashcards
Floating object/ IED
-SALUTE report to ATTWO
-Turn on code lights and set perimeter
-Maintain 360 SA
-Continuous updates to C2
-Prepare to propeller or wake wash object from crafts/assets
-Prepare to scram
-make ACE report to ATTWO
Small Boat Probe
-Warn and deter COI
-SALUTE report to ATTWO
-Initiate warnings (hail, loud speaker, sirens, horns, flares)
-Assume shadowing/blocking position between threat and WRA/barriers/craft
-Monitor COI
-Counter-surveillance
-Prepare to escalate is become small boat attack
Small Boat Attack
-Warn and deter COI
-SALUTE report to ATTWO
-Initiate warnings (hail, loud speaker, sirens, horns, flares)
-Assume shadowing/blocking position between threat and WRA/barriers/craft
-CSW in Condition 3 and notify ATTWO/WC
-SCOF escalation
-If triangle met, rack and neutralize threat
-If beat, SCRAM and coordinate with other HSBs, Tower and Surface Craft
-ACE report to ATTWO/WC
-When craft is destroyed, BDA(battle damage assessment) report to ATTWO/WC
-Prepare to assist medical casualties on COI & HSB (DONT BOARD UNLESS ORDERED)
-Standby to assist EOD
Scheduled Security Barrier Opening
-HSB to PSB 15 min prior
-Tell ATTWO
-Position near opening in guard position
-Turn on code lights
-CSW on Condition 3
-Maintain 360 SA
-Request Ready-5 if needed
Discovers an Open PSB
-Report to ATTWO & HPU Dispatch
-Request ready 5
-Position boat in that position
-Turn on code lights
-CSW condition 3
-Vessel with CSW remain at opening while other sweeps
-Maintain 360 SA
-Report to ATTWO
Loss of Communications
-Check electrical systems if receiving power
-If primary down, use secondary to inform
-If secondary also down, use tertiary to inform
-If all comms down use phones, hand and arm signals, hailing devices etc
-Once established, ready 5 to get boat back up
Loss of Electrical Power
-Check for signs of electrical fire (smoke n flames)
-Check electrical switched and circuit breakers
-Verify alternator output (switch panels, smart craft system)
-Turn battery panel parallel and try to restart engine
-Notify ATTWO, request tow back if not able to restore
Loss of Steering
-Throttle down, assess
-If in high traffic, use throttles and trim down to maneuver
-Secure engines and raise props to check for fouling and/or damage
-Check steering pump belt, rams, steering fluids
-Have bow hook check for movement on rams and outboards
-If no luck, request tow back
-Check water flow out of jets. If none, try to flush jet and monitor engine temps to prevent overheating
Loss of Navigation Lights
HSB w/ NO NAV LIGHTS UNABLE TO GO UNDERWAY
-Check electrical switched and circuit breakers
-Use red/green chem lights (turn on code lights for visibility)
-If no chem lights, use sound signals when transiting
-Notify ATTWO/WC
Loss of Propulsion from:
-loss of electrical power
-fuel pump failure
-engine seizure from salt water in oil/fuel system
-damage to water pump on jet drive boats
-Secure affected engine
-Check oil
-Check fuel system
-Raise outboard engine to check propellers
-Back flush jet drive and check/clear sea water strainers
-Anchor/beach boat if able
-Notify ATTWO/WC
Engine Overheating/High Water Temperature
-Idle affected engine
-Check flow of seawater out of discharge port
-If no flow, bring engines RPMS up and monitor temp
-Back flush jet drive and check/clear sea water strainers
-Check inlets for clogging for outboard engines
-If persists, secure engine and notify ATTWO/WC
Loss of Lube Oil Pressure
-Secure affected engine
-Investigate
-Check for evidence of oil leak
-Check oil filter cap and filter
-Verify oil level
-Check oil drain fitting
-Notify ATTWO
Major Leak/Flooding
-Notify ATTWO/WC/USCG/HPD
-Turn on all bilge pumps
-Move HSB to shallow water if possible
-Locate source
-If on bow, raise on plane
-If on stern, slowdown but don’t stop, monitor w bow hook at diff speeds
-If in hull, attempt to plug
-If faulty hose/pipe, secure system
-Stow ammunition canisters in cabin
-BEACH IF ABLE
-Report to ATTWO/WC
Fire
-Move out of channel and into shallow area
-Secure engines and electrical power
-Attempt to extinguish
-Move ammunition away from fire and fuel source
-If out of control, throw ammo overboard and abandon
If contained, assess injuries and damage
-Notify ATTWO/WC
Man Overboard
-Notify ATTWO/WC
-Throttle down
-Depress MOB
-Turn on blue lights
-Sound 6 short blasts
-Indirect or direct recovery
Collision
-Brace for shock
-Notify ATTWO/WC
-Assess damage render aid
-If civilian, conduct FI, take CF#, take pictures
Grounding
-Assess damage/injuries and notify ATTWO/WC
-(outboard engines)Raise or trim drives to clear props from bottom
-(jet drives)Conduct flush drive to clear intake
-Attempt to free craft
-If can’t be freed request tow
Alongside Tow
-Attach lines in ‘Z’ pattern
-Tow vessel slightly astern
-2000rpms max
