for importing ferry flights (12 months or less)

-continuing validation requirments are similar to CofA
-maintenance
-compliance with ADs
-defects recorded

-not for commercial purposes

20
Q

How to keep the CofA valid

A
  • keep in weight and balance limits
  • fly in accordance with POH
  • only perform approved maneuvers
  • regular aircraft inspections
  • complete repairs (approved by AME)
  • major engine overhall must be completed when mechanic declares
21
Q

C of R

A

Certificate of Registration

  • all aircraft except hang gliders must be registered
  • must be approved for CofA to be registered
  • aircraft ID letters must be clear and visible on a fireproof plate

22
Q

registration incase of which the aircraft is sold…

  3. all entries must be accurate, in ink
  4. normally, the book must be carried at all times
  5. normally a separate entry must be made for flight
  6. if cross country, each full stop landing requires an entry
  7. corrections : single line cross out, no white out
27
Q

Weight and Balance Form

A

-critical to performance of an aircraft
-CofG to far forward/back = stability problems
-when weight is ignored problems could be not taking off and not performing to specifications
-operating outside weight and balance limits is especially dangerous in high, warm and humid conditions
-each aircraft is weighed when new
-whenever anything is changed both gross weight and CofG change. when changed they make an amendment to the weight and balance
-aircraft may be periodically weighed depending on work history
-empty weight and balance is crucial to know for calculating weight and balance when loaded

28
Q

Aviation Document Booklet

A

ADB
-passport style document containing both your license and your medical
-must carry when flying
-license is permanent unless a pilot obtains a new rating
-when a new rating is earned the pilot is sent a sticker for their ABD valid for 60 days then the new license should have arrived
