GENDER
Gender refers to the socially constructed characteristics of women and men—such as norms, roles and relationships of and between groups of women and men. It varies from society to society and can be changed.
SEX
Sex refers to the two main categories (male and female) into which humans and most living things are divided, on the basis of their biological and physiological characteristics.
GENDER NORMS
Gender norms are the expectations that your society traditionally has for women and men
GENDER GAP
Any gap that exists between men and women regarding their rights, opportunities, status, access, benefits, remuneration or levels of participation.
INTERSECTIONALITY
the interconnected nature of social categorizations such as race, class and gender as they apply to a given individual or group, regarded as creating overlapping and interdependent systems of discrimination or disadvantage.
