Power Pak Flashcards
What is a power pack?
The powerpack recirculates chilled glycol through the Trunkline maintaining the perfect beer temperature the powerpack is located above a dedicated 38°F walkin beer cooler
What is glycol temperature control
Glycol flows in a loop. Perlick is the only chiller that actually display of the return temperature of the glycol system in the trunk line
How many options of powerpacks does Perlick offer
Perlick offers power pack in five different horse options in both water and air cold configuration
What is Arctic pour technology
Arctic pour technology is a split powerpack that separates the refrigeration deck from the glycol bath, could be up to 100 feet apart. Perlick is the only system that has an arctic pour separate refrigeration deck available
What is the glycol bath flash trailer
It is an additional option that chills beer 6° below the keg temperature allowing for two different beer temperatures at the tap
What are the three size lines Perlick makes for his beer run
Perlick makes 38 inch 5/16 inch and 1/4 inch inside diameter beverage lines
Why does it matter if you are using a smaller diameter beverage line
When you clean out the beer lines the thinner the line the less beer there is inside of the line so you waste less when you were cleaning it
Is the Trunkline flame retardant
A flame retardant PVC outer wrap protects the three-quarter inch insulation and makes our trunk line housing the only beverage line that is NSF approved
Why doesn’t a Perlick beer trunkline have hotspots
Each beer line is vapor bonded and in direct contact with the copper coolant line for the entire run to eliminate hotspot and maintain the perfect balance
Why do copper lines matter more than plastic lines.
Using pure copper coolant lines are more efficient than plastic line so your powerpack won’t have to work as hard which saves you money they are 17% more efficient plastic lines
How are perlick beer line tubing different from every other manufacture
Beer lines are made of a proprietary barrier tube seals in co2 to keep air temperature integrity and taste
What different kind of pressure choices can use for a perlick beer system
You can use CO2 system, blended CO2, nitrogen systems and beer pumps
CO2 systems explain why this is the most efficient system
If your beer dispenser station and cooler on the same level
and relatively near each other compressed carbon dioxide is an ideal pressure source. it is a natural ingredient in beer and at the right pressure the easiest option to use.
Explain blended CO2 nitrogen system
If your trunk line has a longer run a CO2 nitrogen blended beer system may be appropriate this allows you to introduce a greater pressure into your system without over carbonating the beer and producing foam at the top
Why use beer pumps
If your trunk line has a really long run or significantly changes in elevation or you plan to have multiple stations your palms are the best choice to push the beer from keg to the tap
