A

written in the present tense in first person, the collective voice shows the experience was shared and the stanzas have regular rhyme schemes which show this never ending enemy of nature. however, the rhymes are jagged representing the soldiers confusion and fading energy but each stanza ends with a half line which shows the lack of hope for the men.
