> Geographical location (landlocked) - trading is difficult, extreme climates make farming difficult
Debt - repaying loans means there isn’t enough money for education and healthcare
Conflict - war destroys buildings and schools, costs lots of money and kills many people (workers)
Disease - HIV/AIDS cause sufferers to become too weak to work and provide for families
