Potential Questions Flashcards
Why did you choose this topic?
We chose this topic because we wanted to know the levels of knowledge and practices among radiologic technologists in diagnostic clinics. Given the fact that ionizing radiation can be detrimental to individuals’ health. And there are evidence according to Vano et.al in 2017. He stated the various problems in professional associations of radiologic technologists (1) the lack of long-term learning and mandatory education and training in Radiation Protection, (2) The lack of proper use of RP measures and tools. 3) the limitations or difficulties to audit procedures exposure and the quality control of the equipment.
What is the scope of the study?
For the scope of our study we will be determining the level of knowledge and practices in radiation protection among radiologic technologists in Diagnostic clinics. We will be implementing quantitative research in three diagnostic clinics in Bacolod City.
What is the significance of the study?
Our study will be significant to the school administrators because with the information gathered from this research they will be able to enhance student learning, their knowledge of radiation protection, and positive practices in their future profession. Also, to radiologic technology students for it will be imparting knowledge in radiation protection and best practices that will be valuable for them in the future. This study will also be significant to radiologic technologists for this will improve strategies in providing safe and quality services. And also to the community, this will bring awareness to such topic and will also help them be knowledgeable of the safety hazard in radiologic technology. And finally, to the future researchers, this study will serve as a guide for future researchers in conducting similar research.
What are your research variables?
For our research variables we have the dependent variable which is the level of knowledge in radiation protection of the respondents. As for the Independents variables we have the radiologic technologists; their age, sex, area/zone of work, and years of experience.
What research methodology will you use?
For our research methodology, we will be conducting quantitative research with a correlational approach. We want to know the relationship, the strength, and direction of the following variables. We will be using a survey questionnaire for the data collection method. As for the sampling technique, we will be using purposive sampling since we have specific respondents for this study.
Why did you use that research methodology?
The reason why we chose the survey questionnaire for the data collection method for there is no interview bias, its cost-effective, and it enables the researchers to collect information from the sample without influencing the population of the study.
What source of data was employed for the research?
For the source of data employed in the research, we used secondary sources such as journal article that is relevant to our study.
Who will be the respondents of the study?
The respondents of the study will be a total of 6 radiologic technologists in 3 diagnostic clinics in Bacolod City. (Medical Plaza Analysis & Laboratory Inc, Accumain Clinical Laboratory, Bacolod Diagnostic Clinic
How will you gather data?
Since we will be conducting a quantitative research, we will be gathering the data through survey-questionnaire.
How did you come up with the number of respondents?
Through site visits of the target diagnostic clinics, we were able to identify the number of respondents who will take part in the study.
Why did you have few respondents?
Since radiologic technologists in diagnostic clinics are limited, and with the targeted clinics for this study, we only have 6 respondents in total.
What is the statement of the problem?
- What is the demographic profile of the respondents in terms of:
a. Sex
b. Age
c. Area/Zone of Work
d. Years of Service - What is the level of knowledge of radiation protection and practices in terms of Radiologic Technologist in Diagnostic Clinics when grouped according to the aforementioned variable and taken as a whole
a. Sex
b. Age
c. Area/Zone of Work
d. Years of Service - What is the level of knowledge in radiation protection of radiologic technologists, their practices, and how they are prioritized according to:
a. Age
b. Sex
c. Area/Zone of Work
d. Years of Service - Is there a significant difference in the level of knowledge in Radiation Protection and Practices of Radiologic Technologists when grouped according to the aforementioned variables:
a. Age
b. Sex
c. Area/Zone of Work
d. Years of Service
Why did you not include other stakeholders?
Since the scope of the study focuses on radiologic technology mainly in diagnostic clinics, our respondents will only be limited to radiologic technologists.
How will you validate your questionnaire?
Our questionnaire will be validated by experts/ a professional in the field of radiologic technology. And with Good and Scates validity test we will be able to validate our questionnaire
Is your instrument adopted or researcher-made why?
- Our instrument for this study is research-made however some items in the instrument were adapted to other research studies that have similarity and will be relevant to our study.
