Q

Physical Therapist job in analyzing posture

A

analyze body alignment in regard to gravity’s line of application
postulate what may cause abnormality
deviation from optimal result in unnecesary joint mvmnts
help guide test/measures

Q

Principles of Alignment, Joints, and Muscles

A
  • faulty alignment= undue stress and strain
  • joint positions indicate which muscle elongated/shortened
  • relationship between alignment and muscle test findings if posture habitual
  • muscle shortness brings origin and insertion closer
  • adaptive shortening can develop in muscles that remain in short condition
  • muscle weakness allows seperation of o/i
  • stretch weakness occurs in one-joint muscles that remain elongate
