Suspicion of reason and an acute sensitivity to the role of ideology in asserting and maintaining economic and political power.
Characterised by
Late 20th Century movement in arts, architecture, literature, anthropology, etc. Departure from modernism and its certainties. Re-evaluation of established categories and norms. New awareness about style itself.
Situatedness
Recognition of partiality (bias in favour of one person or thing). How one’s fieldwork and analysis is shaped by historical, biographical and socio-political relationships.
Reflexivity
Recognition of one’s situatedness as a researcher. Reflection on one’s own projections, Rather than assume one’s objectiveness- one has to be reflective.
