Featherstone & Hepworth.
Traditional explanations of age inequality focus too much on imaginary boundaries of age.
Blaikie - positive.
Discusses the idea of positive ageing, which agrees with the idea of a fourth age filled with active but leisure-based pursuits.
Powell - mask of old age.
Priestley, author, stated that for him ageing was like someone had kidnapped him and made him old.
Powell & Biggs - cosmetics.
Some fight age with the use of new technology and cosmetic surgery. This allows some to continually re-create themselves.
