Segments of the PCA

A

PROXIMAL segments: P1 and P2. P1- precommunicating or mesencephalic or horizontal segment (starts from basilar bifurcation to pcomm junction). P2- ambient (pcomm junction to posterior aspect of midbarin). DISTAL Segments P3 and P4. P3- quadrigeminal (posterior aspect of midbrain to calcarine fissure). P4- calcarine.
