Causes of PCB?
A
- Infection
- Cervical ectropion
- Benign growths e.g. cervical and endometrial polyps
- Malignancy of the vagina or cervix
- Trauma e.g. coital laceration

What is ectropion and how does it present?
A
- eversion of the cervical canal under the influence of oestrogen
- The COC is a risk factor for this, alongside pregnancy and puberty
- It can occasionally present with bleeding and/or excessive discharge, but is normally asymptomatic

Management of ectropion?
A
stopping the COCP, if ectropion persists there can be cautery

Causes of IMB?
A
-Vaginal causes:
vaginitis, malignant tumours
- Cervical causes:
infection (TV, chlamydia, gonorrhoea), malignant tumours, ectropion, polyps - Uterine causes:
fibroids, polyps, malignant tumours, endometritis, adenomyosis
