they boosted workforce since they were keen to work hard and in 1949 veterans made up to 40% of college students
why did family goods and services boom?
birth rate increased which led to massive demand for baby food and more industries boomed creating millions of new jobs
how did the baby boom affect construction?
because of the baby boom and increased population, it required more homes housing companies built brand-new towns which led to employment in construction and boomed in related industries
how did cars make suburbs popular?
since cars were more reliable and affordable, it increased mobility which led to more people moving out of city centres sub screw be becoming more spacious and made on the outer edges of the city
how did the standard of living affect women?
domestic appliances were more reliable and more affordable making women’s roles easier shopping also became a popular activity. The first indoor shopping mall in Minnesota 1956. by 1960 the average US living standards was three times more than the UK standards
how did the younger generation change because of the older generation?
they have more pocket money and more free time
how did the younger generation find their self identity?
they were inspired by rock ‘n’ roll stars and Optimus express themselves through fashion
how did the younger generation express independence?
they started to go out in larger numbers to cinemas parks and diners. This meant dance halls also became popular.
