Q

Why do some Filipinos say Sakin, Sayo, and Sa kanila?

A

Some Filipinos say that because although sa can mean in and at, it can also mean to. Meaning that Sakin, Sayo, and Sa kanila can mean To me, to you, and to theirs. Those three phrases can mean it’s mine/yours/theirs as well. You can say Sayo ito, Sakin ito, and Sa kanila ito.
