Thyroid storm: increased temp, pulse and HTN
Hypo-parathyroid (hypocalcemia)
CATS: convulsions, arrhythmias, tetany, spasms, stridor, muscles rigid and tight
Diet: high ca low phosphorus
Drug: synthroid
Hyper-parathyroid (hypercalcemia)
Sedated: fatigue, muscle weakness, renal caliculi, back and JOINT PAIN
Diet: low ca high phosphorus
Hypovolemia
Increases temp, rapid/weak pulse, hypotension, increased RESPIRATIONS, anxiety
Specific gravity > 1.030
Hypervolemia
Bounding pulse, hypertension, SOB, dyspnea, rares/crackles, peripheral edema,
Urine specific gravity < 1.010

First assess pulse rate
Treat: glucose & insulin, diuretics, kayexulate, calcium gluconate

Too much water (SIADH)
Nausea, muscle cramps & twitching, increased ICP, convulsions

Hypernatremia
To much sodium not enough water (dehydration) - DI
