Population Flashcards
Stage 1
Is stage 1 both the birth rate and the death rate are high. The population does not grow in this stage because the high death rate cancels out the high birth rate.
Stage 2
In stage 2 countries begin to develop their economics. The government begins to provide the country with clean water and health services. The birth rate remains high but the death rate decreases. Therefore, the population increases.
Stage 3
Economic development is more advanced. People have fewer children because they survive due to good health services.
Stage 4
In stage 4 the country is wealthy. Parents begin to plan their families and people are surviving to old age.
