Poop Shrek Flashcards
outermost non-living layer of the cell. phone only in some cells rigid layer
Cell wall
Controls or regulates what goes in and out of the cell. Found in all cells. Outermost living layer of the cell.
Cell membrane
sell fluid. All of the material outside of the nucleus and inside of the membrane.
Cytoplasm
Found in plant cells and plant like organisms. Put CO2 and H2O together to make glucose. This process is known as photosynthesis
Chloroplast
Powerhouse of the cell. Converts glucose into usable energy. The organelle where respiration takes place.
Mitochondria
moves products from the nucleus to the cytoplasm, or from the cytoplasm out through the cell membrane. Transports materials throughout the cell.
Endoplasmic reticulum
blueprint or master plan of the cell. Structure within the nucleus that contain the genetic information.
Chromosomes
Makes all the proteins produced by the cell
Ribosome
Storage Sacs. Aids in transportation of products in the cell.
Vacuole
Digestive sac. Contains digestive enzymes for cellular digestion
Lysosome
Produce and release products. They are especially common and tissues that secrete products.
Golgi complex
Control/regulatory center of the cell. Information center of the cell. Found in all cells except Monerans.
Nucleus
Small body within the nucleus.
Nucleolus
Cylinder shaped structures containing nine pattern microtubules which help separate chromosomes during cell division.
Centrioles
a theory in biology that includes one or both of the statements that the cell is the fundamental structural and functional unit of living matter and that the organism is composed of autonomous cells with its properties being the sum of those of its cells.
Cell theory
the substance of a cell nucleus, especially that not forming part of a nucleolus.
Nuvleoplasm
lipid bilayer membrane which surrounds the genetic material and nucleolus in eukaryotic cells.
Nuclear membrane
a microscopic tubular structure present in numbers in the cytoplasm of cells, sometimes aggregating to form more complex structures.
Microtibules
Uncoiled DNA, functions during normal cell activity prokaryotic– cell that do not have a nucleus fulcaryotic- cells that have a nucleus
Chromatin
