Polymers Flashcards

1
Q

What are thermoforming polymers?

A

Thermoforming polymers can be moulded into almost any shape when heated. They can be re heated and reshaped. They are also recyclable. Examples include : acrylic, hips, Hdpe, pp, pvc and pet.

16
Q

Pigments

A

Pigments are added to change the color of a polymer

17
Q

Stabilisers

A

Stabilisers can be added to make a polymer resistant to UV light, this is useful for out door products

18
Q

Fillers

A

Fillers can be added to increase the bulk of a polymer making the polymer more impact resistant
