Polymer 3 Flashcards
Requirements of ideal denture
base:
Biological proprties:
1-non irtant
2-non toxic
3-nonsoluble
4-non absorble
Physical
1-low density > retention of upper dent
2- softning temp higher than food and driks in the mouth
3-thermal expantion match the artifical teeth
5-tanslusent - tranparent >pigmented
Machanical:
1-high moules of elastisty > rigid
2-high imact strenght to resist break
3-high proportional limit to resist premenant deformition
4-adicuate strenght to resist fracter
5-adicate resistance t to absorb energy wo deformition
Other considerations for denture
base materials are:
1- there should be no deformition during prossing or curing or seviec
2-easy to procses with minimal expense and matirial
3-easy to repair
Easy to clean
5- radio opeaqe
Steps of Complete Denture
Construction
1- in the clinic we diagnos then take xray
2-first impression
3- in the lab we take first cast
4-spical tray
5-clinic we take 2nd impression
6-lab seconed cast
7-occlosin block
8-jaw relation
9-articulater
10-setting of the teeh
11-try in
12- replace the temporary dent to prement dent : 1-flasking 2- wax elemnition 3- menpiolation to the dent ( proportion 3;1 V 2.5;1 W - mixing sand then sticky then doug then stiff- sapriting medium-placking -proccising-cooling- deflasking and finifh and poish)
Monemr
Increase the amount of monomer will increase the polymrizition shrikge
Decease the amont of monomer will casce insuffent wetibilty and granular mix
Packing
Early ( sand and sticky);
Low viscous easy to flow out of the cast
Late packing ( stiff and rubbery)
Viscous and hard to gaet out of the cast
Procssesing
Long cycle
74c for 8 hours
Short cycle
1 and half and hour 74c the boiling water of one hour
